Alvaro Alvarez is an architect, artist, and project manager currently living and working in the border region of San Diego, California and Tijuana, Mexico.

Having been born here, he’s blessed with the opportunity to also work with his family’s multiple small businesses, expanding his experience in office-leasing, restaurant operations, and real estate private investment.

Alvaro’s next endeavor will be to start his own hotel brand and design practice, and apply all his expertise into creating special and memorable hospitality experiences for guests.

Architecture teaches us to interpret historical and cultural context, as well as environmental and topographical surroundings – but perhaps the most interesting concept to manifest in a space is the human mind. Spatial memory and circulation can guide design as much as any other parti; we must learn from neuroscience and biopsychology and apply these findings to spaces in order to generate meaningful experiences.
